getModeBitsSnapshot

Returns one atomic snapshot of the published packed mode subset.

TerminalModeBits and TerminalInputState helpers define its published fields. Existing numeric meanings are stable; unassigned bits must be ignored by readers. This finite word does not promise to contain every future terminal mode. General callers may prefer getModeSnapshot for the typed subset it exposes.
