Returns the active shell command-line snapshot, or null after closure or when no trustworthy editing context is available.

The selected integration is authoritative, including null. A host snapshot is read directly; a protocol producer may reconstruct bounded text from the grid. Hosts must keep UTF-16 offsets and live-grid anchors current after corresponding output and geometry changes.
