Copies row data, cursor state, active buffer kind, and color palette from the given frame into this cache's primitive storage.

Direct consumers own the source lifetime: call reset before delivering frames from another source. Prefer updateFrom or updateFromAbsoluteRange when a reader is available; they qualify row generations by reader identity automatically.
