Prepares an 80/132-column switch before the destructive core reset.

TerminalSession implements this hook by resizing its connector. Direct adapter embedders must synchronize their transport here; failures must throw before core changes. Window-resize permission does not govern the logical column switch.

Called synchronously during parsing. Do not mutate core/session state or wait for the EDT. UI hosts should use columnModeChanged instead.
